This is the third time it is happening. My DSL link didn’t show / lid up after I save/reboot the modem via its web interface. Based on my last experiances, it means my port went kaput. As of now, my prime suspect is the modem itself had kaput itself whenever it is being rebooted. I saw the similarity of the event in my incident #2 and #3. So, I believe it had something to do with its firmware. My biggest question mark if this is the case, how can this happened to the modem which being supplied by TM itself. FYI, whenever you subscribe the Streamyx package (in my case Combo package) they will surely give a modem brand RIGER. And its default password for router web interface is tmadmin/tmadmin. Surely enough they designed the router for Streamyx or TM usage. How this can be?
Is there anyway to change the admin username and password? I intend to open my connection for public usage.
Darryl – the one that I mentioned aboved is the default login id and password for Router admin. What you are trying to do is quite different, which is to allow public to access your network. If that is the case – the only thing you need to do is to set ‘no security whatsover’ in LAN section. I meant – no password, no encryption, etc..
i’m having a problem with this particular modem. i cant connect to internet after i restart my lap top. i configured earlier and put all necessary info ( password etc) after pulling cable out and using wifi, i was able to surf the net.
but after i restart laptop, i was unable to connect to the internet. the wifi indicator is ok but there was no connection given.
is it me or other’s are facing the same difficulty?
please assist.
Ismail, I’m not sure about your problem. But maybe you need to give a try to call the help center. Yeah, I know how inefficient their help is, but who knows..

i managed to find the route of the whole problem to my wifi streamyx. it was the ROUTER itself. i mentioned that the riger router provided by TM is the 2 in 1. i actually called the RIGER technician itself to come to my place and troubleshoot the whole thing (bcoz i know if i send back to tm/streamyx agent) it will definately take ages.
according to the ‘technician’, the RIGER DB 108 is not compatible with the ‘line / tm port’ in some areas. i guess that they didnt do proper research on the whole TM/RIGE R system.
ended up i used a seperate modem and seperate router and manage to detect the whole problem. now it is fine and i cud surf the net.
make this simple, i shud have gotten my own the modem and router myself because it was sure hell going thru all the calls and bugging the customer service and knowing that at the end of the day, nothing was to be done.

using this modem smart config dialer have a lower connectivity rate than using the window dial up wizard? that’s what they told me.. is that true? and i have some problem when enter other region website such as china’s. Do you have any way to solve this problem anyway? like recommend me to buy another modem? or you have a way to enchant the smart dialer? cause i personally thought that the modem self dialer are more convinience.

the tower of router is very stronger when i use my laptop nearby it but coz i have placed riger db108-wl in lobby and i use the laptop in my master room of my appartment , i get very weak ,i mean only 2 points of router in the room . so make sure that u have to buy an axtra router coz the router is just useful if u r using laptop nearby the router
