Some how I found myself browsing Tian Chua’s Blog, a well known reformist. Before that I had spent about an hour or so reading debate on KhalidJaafar blog. He and his community are in ‘another world’ if I can say so. They are debating on principles of liberalism.
Even I catogorized them as in another world, but I proud that there are still people like them who love of seeking truth and knowledge into another level, which the youth now are lacking. I found their debate are ‘berhantu’ eventhough I found it hard to understand what they are talking about even they write in Bahasa Melayu!
That also made me recalled to once upon a time in Malays newspaper which published debate between Azizi and Shahnon Ahmad.
Back to Tian Chua’s Blog..there are a few paragraph of his review that I think beautifully describe Pak Lah’s three years performance since becoming Prime Minister in 2003.
If Abdullah Badawi had done something for the people he would enjoy solid support from the people. The people can judge and Mahathir’s threat will fizzle away. In the last 3 years, if Dollah had made some attempts to reform, he would have brought some hope to the people. He could be assured of Malaysians standing up defending him against criticisms from Mahathir.
Unfortunately Pak Lah wasted 3 years. Perhaps from his perspective, his efforts are worthwhile. Now his son is the richest young man in Malaysia. Scomi is growing at a fast pace. Khairy is now the most powerful politician with no official post. Pak Lah may be proud with all these achievements.
